Yoga: Slow Flow

Intensify your practice. Slow flow/deep stretch yoga is a smooth linking of unhurried breath with movement, intensified by mindfully holding postures for several minutes. We will explore the details of each posture at a comfortable pace to allow your body to deepen into a stretch or pause in a strength-building pose. Expect deep shoulder, hip, back, and leg openings with longer holds to gain strength and increase mobility. All levels are welcome.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a different approach to yoga asana and is open to all levels. Often referred to as “a quiet practice,” poses are done lying or sitting down, close to the floor, and held for longer periods of time to target the connective tissue surrounding the hips, thighs, and lower back. Yin Yoga increases flexibility, nourishes the joints, and quiets the mind. This allows the tension in the muscles to dissolve, and to help lengthen and open the tighter, contracting connective tissues of the joints. Runners who struggle with taking the time for stretching and recovery should strongly consider this class as a great addition to their training.
