Sunday night Yin Yoga with Liz Layne Yoga plus a relaxing final resting pose with an Acupuncture add-on to get your Qi moving!

On Sunday March 1st, join Liz Layne and Danisha of Altitude Acupuncture for a very special Yin Yoga class! Come just for Yin Yoga (drop-in, pay at the door), or come for the class plus an Acupuncture ending to enhance the practice (purchase a ticket in advance)!

This *all levels* class is uniquely sequenced, and begins at 8pm in the main studio at RiNo Yoga Social. Class is approximately 75 minutes to give time to incorporate the Acupuncture ending. Arrive a few minutes early to check-in, introduce yourself, and claim your space.

- This class is still open to all as donation-based Yin Yoga (suggested $10)! On the day of class, pay this amount at the door (cash or Venmo)

- To participate in the Acupuncture ending, purchase a ticket here on Eventbrite! ($25 = $10 for yoga and $15 for acupuncture)

During Yin Yoga, Liz will provide hands-on assists and essential oils, both on an opt-in basis. During Acupuncture, Danisha will insert needles into your wrists, ankles, and between the eyebrows as you rest in Savasana.

Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of healing in the world. The fact that acupuncture continues to be practiced today is strong proof of the power of this form of medicine. Acupuncture is the use of ultra-fine (as thin as one strand of hair) disposable needles, which are inserted into specific at specific points on the body to redirect the flow of energy within the body. There are over 350 points on the body. Each has its own specific function. Ultimately, acupuncture decreases the body's stress levels and inflammatory response, allowing the body to operate in a more healthy state. A typical session can last from fifteen to forty minutes and sometimes longer depending on the desired outcome. After a treatment, most patients feel relaxed and rejuvenated with partial or total relief of symptoms treated.

Yin Yoga is often described as a passive yoga practice. In this class we hold our poses longer, often between 2 and 5 minutes. Yin Yoga stretches the connective tissues around the body's joints and assists the flow of energy throughout the body. The longer holds in each pose allow us to access deeper layers of our fascia. Practicing Yin Yoga can help you to cultivate stillness, patience, and and self-compassion as well as revitalize and strengthen the many tissues of the body beyond your muscles.
