Effective July 1, 2018, the City of Chicago will implement new requirements that all food service establishments must follow. These requirements are based on the latest science and conform to federal guidelines and to state and local laws.
These new requirements include the need to establish some written policies and procedures, participate in certain trainings, label certain foods, and install hand sinks in certain areas. There will also be a number of pro-business changes such as eliminating the need for prior approval for certain practices.
To help owners, operators and managers of food service establishments become familiar with these new requirements, the Chicago Department of Public Health is hosting a number of trainings.
During these trainings participants will have an opportunity to learn how these new requirements will change the inspection process, obtain written information and templates to help them comply with the new requirements, and ask questions.
