Join us for a Workshop for family caregivers of loved ones with dementia.
We are the educational division of ElderConsult Geriatric Medicine, founded by Geriatrician Elizabeth Landsverk, MD. Our goal is to help families and elder care professionals understand aspects of dementia and provide solutions and strategies for challenges.
Our facilitators are both experts in dementia with 25+ years of experience working with and helping families and patients.
Stephanie Howard is a Dementia Transitions Educator who spent 20 years developing and managing dementia care communities, facilitating support groups, and educating nurses and other professionals.
Tami Anastasia, MA, CSA, is a Alzheimer's and Dementia Educator, with a private counseling practice and facilitates three Dementia Support Groups in the Silicon Valley.
This month's theme is "This Is So Hard: Difficult Behaviors in Dementia".
We will discuss the various common difficult behaviors and provide strategies and suggestions based on decades of experience.
Some of those common challenges include: not bathing or eating; wandering; shadowing; asking to go home, etc.
Please bring your own challenges and we can discuss and share strategies for best solutions.
