Your Health Concierge, Inc. Wellness Training Center presents a training workshop on working with people who hoard. This is a one day training for health and mental health professionals about common applications of CBT, REBT, and ACT therapies used as tools to treat people who hoard, while training them using a motivational wellness approach.

The workshop will incorporate counseling techniques, self-awareness techniques, and role play in order to build health professionals’ confidence in capability to treat people who hoard, while also giving them the tools and techniques necessary to practice motivational approach on their own.

Attendance is required from 8am - 5pm at the training to receive a certificate of completion. The content includes:

  • Discussing the reasons why hoarding was received as a separate diagnostic category in the DSMV.
  • Summarize basic assessment tools and strategies associated with hoarding therapy.
  • Assess levels of hoarding and recognize differences in cluttering and hoarding as well as motivations to change.
  • Apply counseling techniques in working with clients who hoard.
  • Explain how to recruit and train a team to assist in cleaning a hoarder house.
  • Apply techniques to maintain a supportive but neutral role in the process of treatment in hoarder homes.
  • Compile a contract and plan of action for an intervention at a hoarder home. Discuss goals to achieve safety, sanitation, and functionality.
  • Describe how to terminate or accept limits.
  • Conduct self-assessment of your ability to handle a chaotic situation outside an office setting.

Participants: Our training is available for graduate level professionals.

Continuing Education Contact Hours: 

This Hoarding Training is approved by the American Psychological Association for 6 continuing education contact hours. This Hoarding Training is approved by the National Association of Social Workers for 6 continuing education contact hours. This HoardingTraining is approved for 6 contact hours by the Maryland Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This Hoarding Training is approved for a total of 6 entry-level continuing education contact hours (CECH). 4.5 have been approved for advanced-level credit by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC).

FAQs

What's the refund policy?

  • Cancellation 30 days prior to the training = 100% refund
  • Cancellation two weeks prior to the training = 50% refund
  • Cancellation anytime after two week prior to the training = NO REFUND but payment can be applied to a future training
  • If Your Health Concierge, Inc, need to cancel the training, attendees will have the option of receiving 100% refund or applying their payment to a future training.
