Join Codesmith and a community of women, trans, and non-binary coders during this online-only, interactive workshop to master Javascript closure and scope! We re excited to grow the women in tech community by hosting an all women event, with a female instructor and female mentors. We look forward to creating a safe and welcoming space for women, trans, and non-binary coders. We ask if you don t identify as female, trans, or non-binary that you attend any of our other free workshops.<br/>

This free online workshop will be a live interactive lecture where you will go under-the-hood of JavaScript, so you can confidently tackle new problems and work through blocks.<br/>

During this workshop we will cover: <br/>
- Understand how closure works under the hood (one of the most misunderstood but most powerful features of JavaScript)<br/>
- Understand core JS runtime features - execution context, JavaScript execution model and the variable environment<br/>
- Be able to wield, optimize and debug popular pro utility functions like once and memoize<br/>
- Be able to implement the module pattern - one of the cleanest and most resilient design patterns in JavaScript<br/>

Experience Level: All experience levels welcome. We recommend getting started on our free JavaScript learning platform CSX and working on units up to the Closures, Scope, and Execution context unit before the workshop.<br/>
