Winneconne Historical Society Museum

Visit a quaint collection of five separate museum attractions highlighting the region's history. Steamboat House (1920s), Railroad Depot (1870s), One Room Schoolhouse (1880s), Little Country Home (1900s) & The Kay Wilde Doll Museum. Historically preserved buildings, authentically displayed and set in a single park like venue.

Steamboat House: Experience the original preserved cabins of the former paddle steamboat "Leander Choate". The Steamboat House has a long storied connection to the area and are the only known intact remnants from the once prominent steamboat era that dominated the Lake Winnebago, Fox & Wolf River waterway systems from 1850-1920.

Railroad Depot: Former local terminal of the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad Line in Winneconne. Represents the railroad's impact on Wisconsin's early development. The three room depot is authentically displayed in an 1880-1920 setting complete with station master's desk, telegraph, post office, antiques and local business memorabilia.

One Room Schoolhouse: Wonderful example of the one room country schoolhouse that once populated the Wisconsin countryside. Displayed with original student desks, teacher's desk, slate chalkboard, reading boards, wood stove and pump organ.

Little Country Home: Single room cottage recreated in a 1900s turn-of-the-century country parlor setting. Items displayed include pedal sewing machine, spinng wheel, wood cooking stove, oak ice box, butter churn, dry sink, pie safe, & pump organ.

Kay Wilde Doll Cottage:Thousands of antique dolls of varying style and compostition exhibited in a beautiful cobblestone cottage. Largest collection in Wisconsin.

Relaxing Sunday afternoon visit. Allow 1-2 hours. Senior & Family Friendly. Educational for kids.
