With a nod to Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" and Salem's bevy of literary giants like Nathaniel Hawthorne, join "Ghosts of Salem: Haunts of the Witch City" author Sam Baltrusis on a literary-themed jaunt through historic Salem. The 60-minute walking tour will start and end and Wicked Good Books on Essex Street. Known for its annual Halloween “Haunted Happenings” gathering, it’s no surprise that the historic Massachusetts seaport’s blood-stained history has often been overshadowed by the witch trials of 1692 and sensationalized by pop culture.
The tour aims to accurately give a voice to the victims—and the villains—associated with the horror known as the Salem witch trials. Will history repeat itself? Salem's witch hysteria past continues to be the ultimate cautionary tale.
The Wicked Salem Tour runs Saturdays and Sundays 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. through Halloween
