Write A House, the Detroit nonprofit that awards homes to writers, hosts a conversation between Frances Stroh and Kelly Luce. The event is free and drinks and snacks will be served. Please email RSVP_PA@Shinola.com to attend.

After graduating from Northwestern University with a degree in cognitive science, Kelly Luce moved to Japan, where she lived and worked for three years. Her first book, Three Scenarios in Which Sasaki Grows a Tail, won the 2013 Foreword Review’s Editors Choice Prize in Fiction. Her work has been recognized by fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, Ucross Foundation, the Kerouac Project, and the Michener Center for Writers. Her debut novel, Pull Me Under, is forthcoming from Farrar, Straus and Giroux this fall. She's a contributing editor for Electric Literature and a 2016-17 Radcliffe Institute fellow. She lives in the Santa Cruz mountains.

Frances Stroh was born in Detroit and raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She received her B.A. from Duke University and her M.A. from Chelsea College of Art in London as a Fulbright Scholar. She practiced as an installation artist, exhibiting in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and London before turning to writing. Frances is a member of the San Francisco Writers’ Grotto, and her work across all media explores issues of identity, point of view, and the mythologies that define us.
