Week 7: Chemistry Week - STEM Summer Camp for Kids ages 4-12

Chemistry Week!

Monday AM - Edible Chemistry

Prepare to experiment with all kinds of edible items.  Campers will conduct chemical reactions, candy experiments, and more. We will be making some yummy crystal treats too!

Monday PM - Kitchen inquiry

What's in your kitchen? This class is a chemistry focused inquiry lab with food, and items you would find in your kitchen. Campers will also design and create a solar oven and test their designs.

Tuesday AM - STEM Challenges

Every Tuesday campers will work collaboratively to complete different Hands-on Minds-on STEM challenges to spark creative thinking, focus on team building skills, and empower students to succeed. Campers take home all their designs to show their family and friends.

Tuesday PM - Math Bootcamp

Does your child dislike math? This weekly camp class is an opportunity for your child to master mathematics concepts in a hands-on minds-on fun way! Children will be able to master an area of choice: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, algebra, and beyond. The possibilities are endless when you make learning hands on, enjoyable, and fun. Parents will receive a progress report card after each bootcamp class.

Wednesday AM - Potion Making

What is a pH value? This class will focus on mixing potions to learn about acids, bases, and pH levels. Students will create their very own litmus paper to continue their learning at home.

Wednesday PM - Tie Dyeing

Campers will learn about the color wheel, secondary, and tertiary colors. Conduct color lab experiments and design their own tie dye t-shirt.

Thursday AM - Game Design

This class is an introduction to game design. The younger and older campers will be split into their area of interest and ability to design a game.

Thursday PM - Chemical Reactions

This class will focus on chemical reactions. Campers will conduct investigations both indoors and outdoors to experiment with some fun, messy, and colorful reactions.

Friday AM - Candy Experiments

We doesn't LOVE candy! This class is messy, colorful, and explosive FUN. Chemistry experiments will be conducted with all types of candy. Edible experiments will go home with each camper.

Friday PM - Ice Cream Party!

What is in ice cream? Campers will conduct experiments on different brands of ice cream, make ICE CREAM and eat it too.
