Weave a Wool Tote Bag on a Floor Loom (02-01-2020 starts at 9:00 AM)

In this weaving workshop you will learn basic weaving techniques on how to use a floor loom + the tools needed to weave your very own fabric. This weaving class does not include instruction on dressing (setting up) the loom, although I will soon be offering more in depth workshops if you are interested in deepening your learning into the full process of drafting, warping, and dressing a loom - so check back soon! For this workshop, the looms will be set up and ready to weave when you arrive. You will learn finishing techniques appropriate for your project and depending on which one you choose and how you decide to finish it, you will be also be doing basic sewing, so if this is new for you, you'll also be getting a crash course in basic sewing! Each piece will be completed by the end of the workshop and ready to be taken home to use + enjoy!
There are 5 looms and each will be pre-warped (already set up) with a different project, every 1-2 months the projects will change so be sure to check back in the future for new projects! Sign up for my newsletter at www.everythreadhandwoven.com
This month the project options will be:
- Wool Tote Bag
- Wool Scarf
- Wool Pillow
- Wool Throw Blanket
- Cotton + Linen Hand Towel
You will be able to choose the weft colors and can play around with the design in this way.
Light tea and snacks will be provided as well as all materials/tools needed. No prior weaving experience necessary.
Workshop runs about 5-6 hours, give or take and depending on the project you're working on.
