WCOM (Women's Circle Open Mic)

WCOM or Women's Circle Open Mic is an intimate space of which women are invited to share their art and stories in a comfortable setting. It is an open mic event. All women are welcomed to perform. No boys are allowed, and men are on an invitation basis, and the event planners will alert the masses when the invitation opens. There will be a full bar at the venue. It will be live, fun, and inspiring.

“For women, then, poetry is not a luxury, it is a vital necessity of our existence. It forms the quality of the light within which we predicate our hopes and dreams toward survival and change, first made into language, then into idea, then a more tangible action. Poetry is the way we give name to the nameless”(Audre Lorde). The mission of “Women’s Circle Open Mic” (WCOM) is to provide young and seasoned women a safe space to discourse, heal, grow, and share their talents without the distraction. As we utilized our ancestor, Audre Lorde’s, words as our guiding doctrine, we recognize the importance of women’s participation in the arts. For that purpose, WCOM will give women the opportunity to practice their God given right to give names and voices to our otherwise indisposed truths while healing in a communal space.
