Walk-A-Hound Contest (Dec, Jan, Feb)!

The Animal Adoption Foundation is looking for walkers.  No, not zombies.  Dog walkers!  Walking dogs is fun, good exercise, and really helps our dogs.  They spend way too much time in their kennels.  If that is not incentive enough, how about a free Amazon Echo Dot?

During December, January and February, every time you participate in a Walk-A-Hound session at AAF, you will be entered into a drawing for a free Dot.  It is a pretty cool device.  Once you connect it to your WiFi, you can get all sorts of info and fun out of it, and nearly everything is free.  What is a Dot?  Read on:

The Amazon Echo Dot is a hockey puck-shaped smart speaker and a more compact version of the original Amazon Echo. You can use voice commands on an Amazon Echo Dot through an Alexa personal assistant to answer questions, play the news, play music, and hundreds of other tasks.  For more detail on the Dot - 0000FF;">https://www.businessinsider.com/what-is-amazon-echo-dot

And, if you are a new walker for AAF, we will give you two extra chances to win.  That’s three entries for that first walk.  We will be giving away an Echo Dot in each of the three months, December, January, and February.  So if you don’t win in December, try, try again!

Come help us, help the dogs, and help yourself.   Win a Dot.  And maybe even win the heart of a special dog in need.  If you are new to the WAH program, See details below about this program normally runs.

Here's How Walk-A-Hound Works...

Animal Adoption Foundation (AAF), Provides You With:

1. Enthusiastic Shelter Dogs who need a walk or jog with you!

Trained volunteers will prescreen dogs, then leash up dogs and bring dogs outside to participating volunteers.

2. Outdoor Space to Walk/Jog/Hang-out with Our Shelter Dogs: On premise walking paths allow you to get as much exercise with a dog as you want in a 1-hour session. Or choose to spend time with a dog in the dog play yards. Please note:

  • Sessions are open to all community members  and AAF volunteers;
  • Participants under age 15 years must be accompanied by an adult who is willing to be the primary walker; and,
  • For safety reasons, space is limited to 8 volunteers (note: we ask that if you are coming as part of a group that the group only reserve up to 5 of the 8 available spots);
  • Sign-up for one or multiple sessions.

How Do I Get Involved?

1. Sign up: at http://aafvolunteer.eventbrite.com (then click on the Walk-A-Hound program.

2. Show-Up: You don't need to bring any paper confirmation with you. If it's your first time: you can ask for directions to the program at the Front Desk; then we'll give you some safety information and get you on your way with a dog!

3. If you have a question about the Walk-A-Hound program, contact, Jill: terrierfirma@fuse.net.
