In the mid-1980s, Japan’s straight-to-video horror scene exploded with a new wave of not-quite-feature-length films from the fringes. The shorter runtimes allowed filmmakers to cut to the chase and provide audiences with exactly what they wanted: demonic gremlins, neon phantasms, and exploding skulls! With J-HORROR BLOODBATH, we present DEMON WITHIN and BIOTHERAPY -- two of our favorite underground splatterblasts from Japan. Feeling like R-rated episodes of THE TWILIGHT ZONE combined with 8-bit video game aesthetics and the spirit of RE-ANIMATOR, these movies are ultra-creative, ultra-gross, and ultra-fun. (Joseph A.
