Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational series designed to provide caregivers with the tools to take care of themselves. Classes consist of six sessions held once a week. Whether a caregiver provides care for a spouse, partner, parent, or friend; at home or in a care facility; whether down the block or miles away, a caregiver has an important role. This program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources. Interactive lessons, discussions, and brainstorming will help caregivers take the “tools” they choose and put them into action.
Note: This course is not for professional paid caregivers. There will be six meetings on Thursdays, August 22 to September 26 and people are expected to attend all six meetings.
