Unpacking Productive Struggle in Math and How to Support It  We will find out more about the mathematics buzzword productive struggle and unpack what productive struggle is and what it means for our children.  We will watch productive struggle in action through videos of students and will go over some take-home techniques that encourage perseverance in math.  About the Presenter:Dr. Katie Baker joined the Faculty at Elon University in 2017.  She brings her love for teaching and enthusiam for high-quality elementary mathematics instruction to Elon.  Her research focuses on mathematics education and how we can support prospective and practicing teachers in the work of engaging with student thinking. She recieved her B.A. from the Unviersity of Michigan in Elementary Education, and her M.Ed. and Ed.D. from the University of North Carolina in Mathematics Education/Curriculum and Instruction.
