University of Washington Tacoma Family Orientation At the University of Washington Tacoma, we understand how critical you are to the success of your student.  Family Orientation is a one-day program that occurs at the same time as your student's orientation program. While your student is being welcomed to their new home, parents and family members will attend their own activities and sessions that will help you succeed during this time of transition. Do I have to pay for parking? No. Students and staff will be stationed at the Cragle and Tioga parking lots with free parking passes. Please visit our Parking Lots and Garages page for a map of parking around campus. I have sibilings or young children coming with me. Is that okay? Yes. Please be aware that sibilings and young children are not provided with separate activities. They are welcome to attend any part of Family Orientation with you.  Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No, we will have your reservation records when you check in at the event. The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay? Yes. As long as there is one ticket per participant, you are free to switch out tickets if there is a last-minute change. Can I update my registration information? Please see the information on the EventBrite help page here to update your registration information. What is the refund policy? You can receive a full refund if you notify Student Transition Programs at uwtstp@uw.edu within seven days of the event.  No refunds will be given for cancellations after that time, and no refunds will be given for no-shows.
