Unite 3 on 3 Basketball Returns to Birmingham for 8th Year! in Birmingham

UNITE 3 ON 3 BASKETBALL RETURNS FOR 8TH YEAR!
Birmingham First Unite Methodist Church presents their 8th year of Unite 3 on 3 basketball for kids ages kindergarten-5th grade. This program encourages faith, fun, fellowship and basketball skills!
Unite 3 on 3 runs for 8 weeks from January 18-March 14, 2020. The participants come for one and a half hours on Saturday morning to learn drills, practice with their team and play in two 3 on 3 games. They also have a “faith moment” where they learn about a theme each week (sportsmanship, teamwork, service), work on a service/mission project and their team gets a “Piston’s style” introduction complete with lights and music!
In 7 previous years the program has served 700 youth players as well as over 70 youth referees. Shane Bies, a volunteer coach and Unite parent says "Unite focuses on all the right things about youth sports like sportsmanship and skills, all with Christian mission."
The fee for Unite 3 on 3 is $90 and includes a reversible jersey as well as lots of fun extras!
One favorite part of Unite for the players is working on a mission opportunity. Past missions have included Nothing But Nets for Malaria nets, Desert Angel, Brightmoor Diaper Drive, food for Lighthouse food pantry, socks for Streethreads and more. Thousands of dollars, diapers and food have been donated by the Unite families!
