Ukemania Plain maintains a cozy following of committed, compassionate and open-minded ukulele players. Each month we focus on just a few tunes (rather than going through a longer list of tunes) and we try to dig down a little to work on chords that may be unfamiliar or tricky. We consider alternative ways to play chords, or ways to "spice" chords up by adding a finger here or a riff there. We sometimes tackle more challenging songs that folks have "always wanted to learn"; but we remain accessible to rank beginners at the same time. We think about arrangement and alternatives to what is strictly written on the paper; and we experiment with strumming (and even fingerpicking) patterns. Above all else, we love to sing and play uke! In short, we try to bring some practical creativity to a warm and open jam.
