The University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine with the Academy of Osseointegration 

 

Invites you to the Inaugural UConn/AO Dental Implant Study Club Meeting,

October 23, 2019, 5:30-7:30pm, Low Learning Center- (Dinner Included)

 

In Partnership with the University of Connecticut- School of Dental Medicine, the AO mission is to improve oral health by advancing the science, ethics, and practice of implant dentistry and related technologies  with the goal of continually improving patient outcomes.

 

Undergraduate, Postgraduate Specialty Residents, Faculty, and local AO members are all welcome

 

This Program has been organized by UConn Students: Josh Kwolek, Victor Munoz, and UConn Faculty: Dr. Sejal Thacker, and Dr. Thomas Taylor in partnership with your friends at the Academy of Osseointegration.  Thank you to all the organizers!

Sejal R. Thacker, D.D.S., M.D.Sc.

Graduate Program Director, Advanced Education Program in Periodontics

 

Sejal Thacker, DDS MDSc, is a board certified Periodontist and the Director of the Post-graduate Periodontics Program in UConn Health. She maintains private clinical practice as a Periodontist and Implant Surgeon in Connecticut.  She efficiently manages her professional life as an educator, clinician, researcher and a leader. She was inducted as a “LEAD graduate” by the AAP in 2018 and received an award for “Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring in Periodontics” in 2015 and 2019.


Ajay K. Dhingra, B.D.S, M.D.S., M.S.D.


Assistant Professor, Department of Reconstructive Sciences, UConn School of Dental Medicine

 

Dr. Ajay Dhingra is a board certified Prosthodontist who focusses his practice on Implant Prosthodontics in Connecticut. He completed his certificate program in Prosthodontics with a master’s degree in Oral Biology in 2008 from Rutgers University School of Dental Medicine, New Jersey. Since 2008- early 2019 he had been teaching and provided high quality patient care at UConn Health, Farmington, CT. Since May 2019, he has been working part time in private practice. His practice focusses on Implant Prosthodontics. He is an emerging leader in dentistry and well known in local and state dental societies. He is actively involved with Connecticut State Dental Association and Hartford Dental Society and holds leadership positions.

 


Thomas D. Taylor, D.D.S., M.S.D.


Professor
Head, Department of Reconstructive Sciences, UConn School of Dental Medicine
Chair, Division of Prosthodontics, UConn School of Dental Medicine

 

Dr. Taylor is professor and head, Department of Reconstructive Sciences and chairman, Division of Prosthodontics at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He is involved in both clinical and laboratory research and has published extensively in the prosthodontic literature. He is a past editor of the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants. Dr. Taylor has served as past president of the American Board of Prosthodontics, the American College of Prosthodontists, the International College of Prosthodontists, the International Team for Implantology (ITI), Academy of Prosthodontics and the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics.
