PLEASE NOTE: By selecting that you are a dues-paying member, you promise that you have paid your SBA dues. SBA will be verifying this information upon purchase. If you select the dues-paying member option, and you have in fact not paid your dues, you will be required to pay the difference plus an additional $10 fee. You will also be reported to the UCLA School of Law Office of Student Affairs.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What are SBA dues?

SBA dues are $45 for 1Ls, $30 for 2Ls (including transfer students), and only $15 for 3Ls and LLMs. The dues are used to fund SBA events and to provide funding to all of the student organizations on campus. Click here if you want to pay your dues now. Payment required by February 3 in order to be eligible for the dues-paying discount. If you are unsure whether you have already paid your dues, please email us at sba@lawnet.ucla.edu.

How many tickets can I purchase?

Each student is limited to one student ticket and one guest ticket.

What is the dress code?

The dress code is formal, but a wide range of outfits are appropriate! Feel free to wear cocktail dresses, gowns, suits, tuxes, or whatever your fanciest regalia may entail!

Do I need to bring a date?

Absolutely not! Barrister's is an opportunity for law students and their friends to enjoy the evening solo, in pairs, or in groups.

Is there a minimum age requirement to enter the event?

No, but if you are under 21, you will be required to wear a special wristband. ID will be required at the door to verify you are over 21 and legally allowed to consume alcohol.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. You may show your ticket electronically at the door.

What are the additional fees on my ticket?

Eventbrite charges standard processing fees in order for us to use their ticketing platform. With such a large scale event, this allows us to ensure that ticket purchasing goes smoothly for all who wish to attend Barrister's Ball. Likewise, using Eventbrite allows the SBA to check-in event attendees at the door electronically—saving paper and time for you all!
