Those susceptible to sea sickness or those who have never been on a “sportfishing” boat should take preventative measures in avoid feeling sick on the water.
What to Bring:
• Comfortable clothes
• Windbreaker and/or layers
• Shoes that can get wet
• Pillow and a sheet
What if you’re susceptible to sea-sickness?
There are many over the counter medications that one could take in order to prevent getting sea sick.
• Dramamine – contains “diphenhydramine”, which is an antihistamine. Taking this the night before the trip will dry up any fluid stored in the back of your ear. That fluid is what interferes with your equilibrium when the boat rocks, causing you to be sea sick.
