This February, the Network for Victim Recovery of DC (NVRDC) is offering its "NVRDC Pro Bono Training: Trauma-Informed Lawyering".
Every client brings their own personal experiences to a case. A history of overlapping traumatic experiences can affect a client's participation in the justice system, even when that history is seemingly extraneous to the case.
We proudly acknowledge the pro bono attorneys in DC who strive to honor the experiences of their clients who are survivors. These attorneys go above and beyond, using their own abilities to amplify survivors' stories and to seek justice. This work is incredibly important, yet it can present unique challenges and opportunities for deepening skills in communication and trauma-informed legal practices.
Please join us at Latham & Watkins to learn the basics of representing clients who have experienced trauma.
