Tourist Trophy of America 2019

The Tourist Trophy of America (TTOA) 2019 "Headlong into History" is the run-up to the National Event for Audi Club North America.  We'll highlight a few local Chapters and dealerships to draw attention to the Audi brand and the Audi. Along the way we'll see metalwork from America's heartland, sample real Bourbon, and cross the historic core of America's earliest century and events.

Day 0- Assemble in St. Louis MO (Friday 11 August: be there early and meet-n-greet ACSL!!!!)
Day 1- to Louisville KY via a yard full of plane sculptures and Maker's Mark Distillery
Day 2- to Huntington WV via Audi of Lexington and Hartz Mountain
Day 3- to Covington VA via New River Gorge, the Greenbrier Resort, and Humpback Bridge Wayside
Day 4- to Front Royal VA through the Shenandoah National Park via the Skyline Drive
Day 5- to Lansdowne resort and the ACNA National via Cedar Creek Battlefield

History-
While not every good idea begins on the back of a cocktail napkin, sometimes the best do…the idea of the Tourist Trophy of America (TTOA) has one such origin. Taking form while sitting at breakfast under the Georgia sun at the Audi Club 2016 National Event, the idea of an organized drive as a lead-in to this year’s National Event was first discussed.

Since then two more TTOA have run across the Nation. In 2017, Tarrytown NY was our destination where we visited historical locations in/about the Hudson Valley, including a famous cemetery. In 2018, an EPIC adventure cross-country fol;lowed the Oregon Trail and Mormon Trail, and culminated in The Run to Rainier. Along the way we visited scenic and historical sites related to the great migration, speed on the Salt Lake, and technologies that built the Columbia River Parkway. A total of 20 cars ran, intercepted, or otherwise participated in that lifetime experience.

This year we plan to venture into some little- and well-known historical sites that mark some of our culture, our struggle to be a Nation, and scenic vistas off the beaten path. Come with us as we run Headlong into History.
