Unsure what evaluation is, why or how to do it? This two-hour session will provide an introduction and historical background for evaluation, debunk some commonly held ideas about evaluation, and share methods beyond the standard survey for collecting data. Attendees will learn the phases of evaluation, participate in hands-on activities, and leave with ideas for doing and using evaluation in their own work.
Presented by Cheryl Kessler of Blue Scarf Consulting.
Cheryl Kessler is the Principal/Lead Evaluator at Blue Scarf Consulting LLC, an Eden Prairie-based evaluation service.  She has nearly two decades of experience conducting all phases of evaluation in museums, libraries, and performing arts organizations. A grant reviewer for the Institute for Museum and Library Services from 2009-2013 and for the Minnesota State Arts Board since 2016, Cheryl holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of California, Davis (2000) and a MA in Museum Studies from John F. Kennedy University, Berkeley, CA (2002).
