Therapeutic Foster Care: A Trauma Informed Approach

RELATIONSHIP is the cornerstone of Trauma Informed Care, and this is especially true in Therapeutic Foster Care. Therapeutic Foster Care is a Trauma Informed Intervention and at the heart of this family-based treatment program are the trauma informed and highly skilled Therapeutic Foster Parents.  This workshop provides a deeper look at the trauma informed approaches and interventions provided by Therapeutic Foster Parents and their support teams. Through the use of storytelling and hands-on activities this workshop will explore how family based treatment and trauma informed interventions support healing and resiliency.

Our Presenter, Hilary Mahoney, MPH, is Pima Foster Care Program Manager for Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health.

The SATIN trainings are hosted at GAP Ministries on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 12:00-2:00PM.  Registration is FREE (No lunch is served).  Join us each month to hear various topics surrounding trauma - together we can help make Tucson a Trauma Informed Community!
