Do you want to learn how to Ignite Your Message?  Are you a Writer (fiction or non-fiction) or Speaker, who desires to lift your message to the next level and connect with your readers or listeners?  Join us as we learn from Author and Master Storyteller Steven James!  

Bestselling Author Steven James is one of the nation’s most innovative storytellers. He has written more than twenty books and is a full-time speaker, having appeared more than 1,500 times throughout North America, Europe, and Asia since 1996. 
With a master's degree in storytelling, Steven shares his unique blend of drama, comedy, and inspirational storytelling to reach the hearts and minds of his audiences.

We’ll explore and demystify the creative process while discovering simple steps for intensifying the impact of your storytelling. Whether you’re new to writing and speaking or a seasoned pro, you’ll learn practical, easy-to-master techniques that will save you time while taking your work to the next level. An in-depth handout will be provided.

2:30 - 3:15  Storytelling Skills for Speakers 

Learn how to make your talks and speeches more gripping, attention-getting and impactful. Gain confidence in your ability to tell stories effectively. Develop storytelling skills (such as voice, gesture, and pacing) and sharpen the storytelling and listening skills you already have. Your instructor, Steven James, has a Master’s Degree in Storytelling and has spoken more than 1500 times around North America and abroad. A handout will be provided.

What can I bring into the event?

Bring a notebook and pen and a heart ready to learn and grow!  If you don't choose to purchase the catered lunch you may bring your lunch with you or head to a nearby restaurant.   You are welcome to bring beverages and snacks of your choice!

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The venue offers plenty of parking.  Uber and Lyft are options if you are coming from the airport. If you are flying, you may choose either Charlotte Douglass International or Concord Regional Airport.

What's the refund policy?

Logistics of planning and purchasing supplies for the workshop prevent us from offering refunds.  But we understand that "life happens".  If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to a friend.  NOTE: Please let organizers know by emailing kimberlyjamesdent@gmail.com if you transfer your ticket so a new name tag can be made for the attendee.

 

Can I pay at the door?

Yes.  Walk ins are welcome. (Although we would love to be able to plan for you)  Walk in registration is $45.00 cash or check made out to Word Weavers International.  We will not be able to take credit or debit cards at the door.

Unfortunately catered lunch and first-page critique options will not be available for walk ins. Please plan on bringing your lunch.

Please try to arrive early so we can make you a name tag!

 

Can I register via snail mail and personal check?

Yes. But it really helps us to have all registrations in one place...but if technology is not your friend...Deadline to receive mail in registration is Oct 27th.

 Send a self addressed stamped envelope and check for the workshop and any optional items (lunch or critique) with the following info printed neatly...  (note: you need not add the additional online fees for mail in registration.)  ticket will be mailed to you and you will need to bring it to the workshop.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

So that all participants can focus and enjoy the workshop, we respectfully request that participants not bring infants or children to the event.  School aged kids 12 and over are welcome but will need to have a ticket.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes please bring your ticket.  Thank you.  screen shots on your phone will work as well.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes, you may transfer your ticket to a friend if you cannot attend.   Please let organizers know so we can update our guest list and make a new name tag.  You are responsible for obtaining reimbursement from your friend.
