Wednesday, September 26 at the UpStage Cabaret at Triad Stage
TEDxGreensboro Salon events are smaller events that involve the audience in a discussion about a single topic. We will share a TED Talk and from time-to-time will add local speakers to build a dialogue with you – the participants. There will be questions, thoughts and ideas that we will ponder and explore. Come early starting at 5:45 -- bring a snack or dinner (Triad Stage will have wine, beer, and soft drinks for sale) and mix and mingle with other TEDx’ers. The program will start promptly at 6:30. Register soon – enrollment is limited.
The May Salon: Who belongs in a city?
Many Greensboro residents live with housing and employment insecurity, which leads them to a life on the streets of our city. Metro areas often struggle with fostering urban development without displacing those who are unable to relocate. Business owners may decry panhandling, but, with limited jobs available, it can be a necessary means of survival for our most vulnerable. Those who work downtown wonder if it is better to give money to someone for temporary alleviation, or to donate to an organization that supports those in need. As Greensboro struggles with these issues, please join us in viewing a thought-provoking TED Talk followed by a moderated discussion.
