Social Media Matters

A lively discussion centered around the ins and outs of social media for artists and creatives in business, with tips for engaging an audience and expressing a brand using narrative content. 

Topics will include:

• Getting the most out of Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter - essential ways to use them and how they're alike and different 
• Creating an authentic narrative - keeping your audience engaged with written and visual content 
• Etiquette on social media and best practices
• Communication choices - your personal lifestyle vs. your professional brand. Are they one in the same? When to keep separate? 
• Insight on hashtags, algorithms and posting frequency across platforms

• Thea Fotiu Howell-  Former Arts Director for the City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department, an arts educator and administrator with 20+ years of experience and currently the freelance creative of Thea Fotiu Howell, The Artist's Concierge 
• Chelsey Bentley Holts - A freelance digital marketing, branding and design strategist working with clients such as J. Cole's Dreamville Festival, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The Art of Cool Festival, and currently the owner of Nakoma Marketing & PR
