Domestic Violence and the Church-Rev. Beverly Gray
This session is designed to give insight and information regarding the realities of the impact of domestic violence on families and the church. It will also provide tools, resources and guidance for creating and sustaining effective ministry that encourages faith-based organizations to develop a sensitive and listening ear for this subtle quiet enemy of our communities.
Ministry Event Planning- Mrs. Dale Sharpe Lee
This session is designed to help ministry leaders to identify activities and events that are aligned with purpose and function that is tailored to the targeted audience and designed outcome. It will also provide tools, resources, information and guidance about how to move from an idea to an actual plan for success that is detailed, structured, strategic, productive and measurable. This session will also give insight about how to embrace change and be progressive instead of disguising the old as the new.
Mind the Church Business- Pastor Steven Avinger, Sr.
This session is designed to provide insight and information about the importance of properly handling church business. The church is not a business, yet it is God’s business and therefore, those who are handling His business (we all have a responsibility) should do so with spiritual maturity, integrity, wisdom and business knowledge, expertise and savvy (acumen).This session will provide guidance with developing a plan, strategy and a team for managing God’s business.
Youth Ministry Lesson Planning & Effective Visual Demonstrations- Minister Monique Whitaker
This session is designed to introduce youth leaders and teachers, particularly ages 6-18, to productive lesson planning and the utilization of effective visual demonstrations that aids in accomplishing desired goals and objectives. This session will provide insight and information about things to consider that will be interesting and relevant to the age group that results in learning and development.
Moving Ministry Beyond the Walls of Church- Dr. Eric Mason
This session is designed to provide fundamental information about how to move beyond limiting ministry to the walls of the church. The church is not designed to merely be a building where people gather to carry out traditional and cultural norms. This session will help leaders, believers, teachers, and instructors to develop a plan and a process for intentional, not accidental or coincidental, winning the lost and sustaining the saved.
Ministers and Pastors Building Bridges-Bishop Keith Reed and Dr. Paul R. Lee
This session is a closed session just for Pastors and Ministers. This session is designed to explore the issues, differences and challenges that have created division and separation of Ministers and Pastors. Some things that will be considered: How has the church and ministry been impacted? What challenges have been associated with personal, relational, historical or cultural issues? How to grow through what has happened and embrace the possibilities of what can happen. This session is designed to assist with moving from paving a road of difference and separation to building a bridge of connections and unity within the faith.
Financial Stewardship- Minister Aronissa Harris
This session is designed to provide foundational financial principles about what God says about His money and His resources. Some things that will be considered: We do not own God’s property and possessions, we have been designated as stewards, and we can’t manage God’s resources if we are not allowing God to manage us. This session will provide insight about the what, when, where, how and why of being a fruitful and productive financial steward.
Music, Musician and Ministry-Pastor Keith Pelzer & Mr. Darien Brister
This session is designed to provide insight and understanding of the harmony of the three components. The three-strand cord of joining together the music and musician that becomes a platform for worship (ministry). This session will explore the importance of the musician being rooted and grounded in the Word, prepared and prompt, have a disciplined and effective relationship with leadership and membership, understand spiritual music and its meaning, demonstrate Christ-like character, understand the culture of where you worship, and be engaged in a continuous process of sharpening your skills. As the music and musician effectively come together it will assist with moving from performance to ministry.
Ministry Marketing, Advertising and Technology-Pastor Shawn Edmonds
This session is designed as an introduction to utilizing marketing and advertising as you engage in the process of drawing all souls to Christ.Some things to consider as you move from being passive to progressive are: church logo and signage, branding, digital presence, social media, live broadcasting, websites, bulletins, announcements, flyers, email, mailings, etc. You will need to have a clear understanding of your place of worship vision, purpose, goals and culture to identify the what, when, where, how and who regarding the use of ministry marketing, advertising and technology.
Ministry Team Building, Group Dynamics & Conflict Resolution. Effective ways to work together to accomplish goals- Mrs. Kala Baxter
This session is designed to provide insight, information and practical application to assist with building effective ministry teams. This will include exploring group dynamics and how to resolve conflict instead of creating and embracing conflict. This session will also assist with a better understanding of how to lead without taking over, being assertive not aggressive, and how to create an environment that welcomes the support, encouragement and work of team members.
