On April 1-2, Los Angeles will welcome the James Beard Foundation’s Taste America® presented by Capital One® for a weekend of delicious food and thought-provoking conversation surrounding the nonprofit’s mission of cultivating a better food world for all.
Taste America’s weekend in Los Angeles will kick off with Raising the Bar, a cocktail party focusing on sustainability, on Wednesday, April 1, at Freeplay at The Fields LA. Delicious bites and fun cocktails will be served up by top local mixologists and chefs including Juan Rendon (Gwen) and Chris Amirault (Otium). In addition to having one-on-one interactions with the chefs and mixologists, attendees will receive practical tips and guidance on how they can help build a better and sustainable food world, starting in their own home. A focus for this year’s Raising the Bar is setting in place “Waste Not” initiatives to lessen the event’s footprint by making use of all scraps, ingredients, and materials.
