A cartouche is an ancient Egyptian design that typically surrounded a name. In decorative terms, it is a frame that showcases an image or item. In this class we will use TANGLED CARTOUCHE techniques to surround unique items. We will do 2 projects during class, one with an item chosen during class, and the other with an item that you bring from home. The item should be smaller than 3 inches (roughly), and something that can be attached to paper with tape or wire. It can also be a photograph. (FYI, please bring a photograph that you are ok cutting apart.) The resulting artwork is a beautiful ornamental design surrounding a sentimental part of your life. Bring your basic tangling kit to class, along with 1-3 items that you would like to use for the cartouche. (Options are always good!)
