Women of Color Leadership: Overcome Culture Bias Meet Up
At SXSW!
Come together to discuss tangible action steps and ways we can take the movement of reduction of salary gap forward.
Women of color are paid the lowest of all groups and are less likely to be in leadership positions as they are impacted with cultural/family bias, lack of role models, mentors champions.
Meet other individuals who have had similar experiences while you informally discuss how to overcome the obstacles, mindset and how to champion other women in organizations so there is a reduction of salary gap and increased gender diversity.
Hosted by veza community's Manpreet Dhillon:
Manpreet is a Certified Personal and Business Coach, and a Certified Human Resources Professional with a Masters in Organizational Management. Manpreet has over 15 years of leadership, human resources and community development expertise and has worked with notable organizations including: UN affiliate: Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, City of Vancouver, University of British Columbia, Blenz Coffee, 7-Eleven, as well as a host of tech and biotech companies, Canadian political parties, and non-profit organizations. Manpreet has designed and led workshops and trainings both in-person and online in the areas of diversity, women in leadership, human resources, coaching, general leadership and management. With over 10,000 hours of coaching over the last nine years. Manpreet has held positions as Board Member of the British Columbia Institute of Technology Alumni Board of Directors, past Board Member of Royal Roads University, and has served on various arts and health boards. Manpreet is a contributing author to Forbes, twice contributing author to Chicken Soup for the Soul and a contributing author to the best selling Amazon book—365 Days to the Soul. Manpreet received her Masters in Organizational Management and resides in Vancouver.
