This is the first meeting for Scouts to work on the Requirements for the Thomas Edison SuperNova Award. THE THOMAS EDISON SUPERNOVA NOVA PROGRAM IS ONLY OPEN TO BSA SCOUTS WHO: 1) Have earned the Bernard Harris Supernova Award by 05/28/2020. 2) Have earned 4 of 4 of the following NOVA Awards by 05/28/2020: Science: Shoot! or Splash! or Let-It-Grow or Mendel’s Minions Technology: Start Your Engines or Hello World. Engineering: Whoosh! Mathematics: Designed-To-Crunch =========== AGENDA: 10:00 AM: CHECK IN 10:30 AM: Supernova Program Meeting #1 01:00 PM: IMAX Movie + Lunch 02:30 PM: Supernova Program Meeting #1 continues 04:30 PM: CHECK OUT ============ NOTES - PLEASE READ:  1) Please Sign Up ELIGIBLE SCOUT in his/her name using Parents email address based on Scout’s estimated rank (First, Star, Life, Eagle) as of 05/21/2020. 2) Please check the email address used during the Eventbrite SignUp process on a regular basis as your response on behalf of your Scout is required at least TWICE between December 2019 and May 2020. 3) For youth protection and privacy, the locations of our meetings for the Supernova Award Program will only be shared to Eventbrite signups as Scouts who are eligible for the Thomas Edison Supernova Award will have the opportunity to vote on them (where/when) after the first meeting at the California Science Center in Los Angeles. 4) Adults who would like to accompany their scouts for the IMAX showing will need to purchase their own ticket(s) at the box office on the day itself, and their own snacks. 5) Scouts must come in their Class A field uniform with (a) their Bernard Harris award worksheets/checklists as proof for Requirement 1, (b) the Thomas Edison Supernova Checklist + Workbook, and (c) writing pen,  https://MeritBadge.org/wiki/images/5/50/Thomas_Edison_Silver_Supernova_Award.pdf 6) Parking at the Science Center starts at $12.00 per vehicle CASH only.  7) If taking metro, please disembark at USC/Expo Park or USC/Vermont.  ================ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)   Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? The Thomas Edison SuperNova Program is Open to Scouts who HAVE EARNED (a) the Bernard Harris Supernova Award, and (b) 4 of the 4 Nova Awards as listed: (1) SCIENCE (Shoot or Splash or Grow or Minions), (2j TECHNOLOGY (Start Your Engines or Hello World), (3) ENGINEERING (Whoosh), and/or MATHEMATICS (Crunch).   What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Parking starts at $12.00 per vehicle CASH only at the parking lot. If taking the metro, disembark at USC/Expo.   What can I bring into the event? Please see NOTES #5 and NOTES #6.   What's the refund policy? NO REFUNDS.   Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? YES - to check in.   Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? NO.   Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends? NO. Scouts should be signed up using their name with their parents email address.
