Day 2

Morning education session: Surface cleaning

Learn how surface cleaning technology can be used to prepare materials for welding, painting, coating and achieving better adhesion. Our KRÜSS experts will discuss how our solutions can be used to characterize surfaces, both before and after cleaning. Adapt Laser will provide a comprehensive look at laser cleaning as a chemical-free and efficient method to remove contaminants, previous coating or get to the base material of your product. Cold Jet will talk about how dry ice blasting can be used to remove contaminants from plastic, metal and steel in preparation for painting and coatings.

Afternoon workshop: Make it stick!

Get your hands dirty while cleaning surfaces. Bring your own materials to clean and characterize pre- and post-treatment, or use common substrates provided by KRÜSS.

Evening: Social outing and dinner

Love golf? Or have you never played before? No matter your skill level everyone can have fun at Top Golf. A wide selection of games use micro-chipped golf balls to keep track of every shot. Your shots will be relayed back to your bay screen showing the accuracy and distance of each ball. Giant targets mean everyone can score! Day 3

Morning education session: Plasma functionalization

Learn how KRÜSS instrumentation can help achieve optimal plasma treatment of surfaces. You will see how our solutions are used to test surfaces, both before and after plasma treating. Enercon will provide a comprehensive look at open-air plasma treatment and how it can improve surface adhesion. Tantec will discuss how vacuum plasma treatment results in uniform surface treatment to improve adhesion and wettability properties with long durability.

Try your hand at plasma treatment. Bring your own materials or use KRÜSS-provided substrates at a series of workstations designed to let you use what you learned to make it stick.

Day 1

Morning education session: Introduction to adhesion

Dr. Kash Mittal, a global expert in adhesion research, will kick off day one with an introduction to adhesion and a comprehensive analysis of what is required to achieve optimal bonding with a variety of materials in a range of industries. You will then be presented with a complete overview and demonstration of KRÜSS solutions, including the instruments, techniques and software needed to perform surface characterization.

Apply what you learned in the morning session at a series of workstations outfitted with KRÜSS solutions. This hands-on opportunity will make your knowledge stick as you practice techniques for surface characterization to study, predict and improve adhesion.

Please join KRÜSS for this three-day joint workshop which features focused morning and afternoon sessions in partnership with Dr. Kash Mittal, Adapt Laser, Cold Jet, Enercon, and Tantec. With a small class size of 40 participants, everyone in attendance will have the opportunity to go beyond the surface and learn how to operate the tools and software that are used to analyze and optimize surfaces for improved adhesion.

Morning education sessions will be held at Whitehead Manor Conference Center in Charlotte, NC. Lunch will be served at Whitehead Manor daily. After lunch, KRÜSS will provide transportation for the quick 8-minute trip to our Matthews, NC, office for the afternoon workshops. Here you can take what you learned from the morning, roll up your sleeves and get to work in a fully supported, hands-on workshop setting to really make it stick.

• The practical part of the course will be carried out in small groups.

• 50% of the seminar fee will be charged for cancellations after March 31.
