Mastering Responsive Design with MadCap Flare
Neil Perlin
Flare has “responsive” features – responsive output and responsive layout – but how do you use them together? What’s the overall process of making a project responsive? Find out in this hands-on workshop. We’ll make a tiny but representative project responsive by:
The result will be a fully responsive target that can take full advantage of desktop, tablet, and phone displays.
NOTE - Attendees will need to bring a laptop running either a fully-licensed version or a 30-day trial version of Flare 2018 at a minimum. More details will be forthcoming closer to the conference.
And… (Deliver More, Do More, Ask For More)
Bernard Aschwanden (sponsored by Adobe)
Just asking “and” seems like such a small thing. You deliver PDF, they say “and…” to which you need to reply “HTML5, Apps, eBook, etc”. You offer to create a User Guide, they say “and…” so you include Admin Guide, Reference Guide, Tutorials, and Support Docs. Push back. See how you can deliver more, and do more, regardless of tools or tech. Show that you add value to sales, support, marketing, IT, and every department in the organization. Then leverage that to ask for (and get) more. More conferences, more resources, more vacation time, and more influence. Show up, learn to deliver more, do more, and get more. While there, ask what else you can get. “And…”
Includes content strategy and topic based writing. Determine people, process, tools, output, then plan and create content. We play the roles of a few groups as well. I did it at interchange. A "Create Once, Publish Many" workshop and it was pretty fun to do. End of the day we plan, write, publish.
We create the content once, then save as PDF and HTML5 (with the option to build an app, etc.)
