The National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS, Inc., (NBLCA) will present its third Winning at Living: STATE OF HIV IN BLACK AMERICA: Southern Region Conference on April 7, 2017, 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the historic city of Tuskegee, Alabama, at The Municipal Complex. Engage with experts, advocates and health care providers for insights on this year’s area of focus: the HIV epidemic in the U.S. South.
This free event is open to community leaders, including AIDS activists, elected officials, clergy, health practitioners and service providers, students and educators. The conference is an important component of NBLCA’s program to help end the epidemic, and/or significantly reduce the number of new infections by 2020, in alignment with the NATIONAL HIV/AIDS STRATEGY (NHAS), HEALTHY PEOPLE 2020 and END THE EPIDEMIC (ETE) action plans in black communities.
Even though action plans to end the epidemic, and/or significantly reduce the number of new infections by 2020 are underway, this will not be achieved in black populations without persistent calls for accountability at the public, private, community and individual levels. The goal of the State of HIV in Black America: Southern Region is a shared understanding of the research, science, policy, and service delivery systems that address needs of the black people.
This event is free and open to the public. To register for the event
