Starting your own business can be an exciting and rewarding experience.  Establishing a Nonprofit 501 (c) (3) Tax- Exempt business can offer numerous advantages in securing grants to sustain your organization or projects.  This workshop will give you step-by-step instruction on how to establish a Nonprofit 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt business and become a successful entrepreneur.   

You will learn how to:

  • Determine the legal structure of your business
  • Register for a business name with the State government
  • Write a Business Plan  (Each participant will receive a Business Plan template)
  • Register your business with the State and Federal government
  • Prepare and file your organization Articles of Incorporation
  • Develop your organization By-Laws
  • Establish a Board of Directors and Board of Advisors
  • Register for workers' compensation, unemployment, and disability insurance
  • Obtain business licenses and permits
  • Understand State laws regarding solicitation
  • Understanding grants and contracts as funding resources
  • Each participant will receive a grant funding opportunity

This workshop will benefit Veterans, Women, Aspiring Entrepreneurs and Faith-based Organizations.

Certificate in Grant Research and Writing Entrepreneurial Development -  As a Certified Professional in Grant Research and Writing Entrepreneurial Development (CP-GRWED), you will develop core competencies that will empower you to find, apply, secure and manage grants and contracts for start-ups, small, profit, and non-profit organizations or lead Research Development teams within your organization. 

There are no pre-requisite requirements for earning the credential. A certification exam is required. Upon successful completion of the exam, you will become a member of the CP-GRWED Guild and gain access to exclusive member benefits such as unlimited free phone consultations, member discounts for future workshops, attend and speak at networking events, receive funding opportunity announcements, and referral services.
