Registration for the Lithuanian Ministry Mass at St. Peter Parish at 10:30am

In accordance with mandatory guidelines from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, thank you for registering for Sunday Mass at the South Boston Seaport Catholic Collaborative Parishes:

10:30am at St. Peter

Please note that we must collect contact information for all Mass guests for purposes of future contact tracing if necessary. We also must strictly limit the numbers of people attending each Mass in addition to other new practices listed below.

If you are within an age or compromised health risk group, please stay at home. If you are sick, stay at home. You may find Masses posted at the South Boston Seaport Catholic Collaborative YouTube Channel. The Cardinal has extended dispensation from attending Mass in person for the forseeable future due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Your safety is our collective priority.

If you are able to support the Collaborative while you are unable to attend Mass in person, you may donate at the South Boston Seaport Catholic Collaborative Website. Thank you very much for your generosity and prayers for the Collaborative in these trying times.

If you have any questions, please call: 617-268-8100.

THE RESUMPTION OF PUBLIC WORSHIP SERVICES - WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Two Sunday Masses: Sunday 9:00am (The St. Peter’s Mass) & Sunday 10:30am (The St. Monica’s Mass)

You will notice lots of new signs.

• Markings or signs on the floor reminding you to stay 6 feet apart at all times.

• Signs reminding you that masks and gloves must be worn at all times.

What if I forget my mask?

We will have greeters standing by at the entrance ways to the church with extra gloves and masks for those who do not have them.

• Pew signs indicate which pews are off-limits (they will be “roped off” with tape.)

• Bright blue painter’s tape indicates where people may sit.

• Everyone older than five must wear a mask over their nose and mouth.

• Everyone older than five must wear gloves.

• Children three to five —masks and gloves are optional.

• Children two years and younger—masks are prohibited due to safety concerns

We have extra masks and gloves for those who might have left theirs at home.

No More Papers

• There are no more missalettes, hymnals, Pilots, or other papers in the pews.

Greeters/Helpers will be there to answer questions or offer assistance getting seated. Thank you for your cooperation with them.

Shorter Masses

• Masses will be kept to 30-35 minutes.

No Two-Way Traffic

• We want to avoid two-way foot traffic in the church. The ideal is for people to get seated and remain seated until the Mass concludes.

• Ushers will be able to help direct someone who needs to go somewhere before the Mass concludes.

Different Method of the Offertory

• The offertory cannot be collected as in the past.

• Collection baskets are no longer permitted.

• There will be a drop-box as one enters the church. Please avoid touching the box itself.

Smaller Congregations—Perhaps

To be properly spaced apart in order to maintain safe social distancing, we can fit 55 people at St. Peter’s (55) just under 85 at St. Monica’s (84). People must be 6’ minimum apart from one another. Immediate family members are the exceptions.

Communion

To avoid potential cross-contamination, the priest, deacon, and extraordinary minister will bring Holy Communion to the faithful in the pews.

No Congregational Singing, etc.

To reduce the likelihood of contagions spread via people’s mouths, there will be

•no congregational singing

•no congregational responses

•no choirs

•fewer musical pieces by the cantor

•shorter priest/deacon homilies

•the Apostles' Creed will be said quietly (silently)

•the Our Father will be said quietly (silently)

•some parts of the Mass will sound slightly different as a result.

•no sign of peace (it will be skipped)

•no processions.

•no gathering before or after Mass either within or outside the church.
