The benefits that arise from interactions between senior citizens and children have been well researched and proven. As a professional nanny, I try to do what I can to enrich the lives of my charges. With that being said, in October of 2018, I started a weekly play group at Pacifica Senior Living in Lynnwood, WA. Sprouts & Seniors meets every Wednesday at 10AM in the Community Cottage at Pacifica.
The play group officially starts at 10AM and lasts for about an hour, but you are welcome to drop in any time within the hour. There’s various toys on hand (baby dolls, baby stroller, small ball pit, puzzles, stuffed animals, a couple books, etc) and snacks (puffs, teething biscuits, yogurt melts). The rhythm of the morning is very casual and unstructured, the children play and the residents can engage as much as they wish. The play group takes place in the Community Cottage, which is towards the back of the property as you drive through (there are signs that direct you to it as well). If parking is not available on Pacifica’s property, you may park at the church next door. We welcome children of all ages, from birth to school aged.
