Dr. Laura Zane Kolmar brings more than 30 years of pastoral experience to Norwood Hospital. She recently served as Pediatric Chaplain Resident at UNC Hospitals in North Carolina and as a Director of Pastoral Services with RENEW International.
A graduate of Yale Divinity School, Dr. Kolmar has conducted trainings, workshops and retreats across the United States and Internationally in Australia, Canada and South Africa.
Locally, Dr. Kolmar, who is the chair of the Norwood Hospital Ethics committee, has been proactive about celebrating and embracing the cultural and spiritual diversity of the staff and patients of Norwood Hospital and the community at large. Dr. Kolmar serves as the team point person at Norwood Hospital for the initiate in palliative care. She is also a Spiritual Director.
Dr. Kolmar earned her Doctor of Ministry degree at Drew University Theological School where she researched and wrote about the relationship between spirituality and healing. She earned her Master of divinity degree at Yale Divinity School where she was mentored by her Spiritual Director, Henri Nouwen.
