Panelists will discuss how this technology can improve patient outcomes and experience. They will share how their social media strategies have evolved to reduce risk and minimize loss. Panelists will provide examples on how their facility utilizes social media, why they use social media, and lessons they have learned when they started incorporation social media. Their lessons learned will help attendees identify the perils and opportunities upon implementing a social media strategy. The team’s creative and innovative marketing approaches have garnered attention within the industry. Maren Auxier, Director of Communication at Darryl Strawberry Recovery Center Maren Auxier serves as the Director of Communications for Darryl Strawberry Recovery Center, an addiction rehabilitation facility, and Editor for painresource.com, an online news publication designed to help people who live with chronic pain. Maren has 7 years of experience in digital marketing, including content marketing, public relations and social media management. Maren has worked in healthcare marketing since 2015 and enjoys using marketing as a tool to educate and empower patients while meeting organizational goals. Jason Dangel, Public Affairs Officer at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System Jason Dangel serves as the public affairs officer for the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System (BPVAHCS) located in Bay Pines, Fla. He is responsible for a wide range of internal and external communications and public relations activities for the organization which is comprised of the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center in Bay Pines and VA community clinics located in Bradenton, Cape Coral, Naples, Palm Harbor, Port Charlotte, Sarasota, St. Petersburg, and Sebring. The BPVAHCS is one of the largest VA healthcare systems in the country. The system serves more than 110,000 Veterans and employs approximately 4,300 clinical and administrative professionals. Prior to his position at the Bay Pines VAHCS, Mr. Dangel served as a public affairs specialist with the Veterans Integrated Service Network 8 Office located in St. Petersburg, Fla. – the regional arm of VA health care provision, administration and oversight for Florida, South Georgia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
