In this class, students will advance their skills by learning to drape their own clothing over a dress form. Students will learn the fundamentals of fashion draping, including understanding grainline, draping on the bias, and using styling tape. The instructor will work with each student to develop a final design project which will then be turned into a sewing pattern.This class will focus on the dress form, and students will make a sample draped blouse or skirt.
Prerequisite:
Sewing 101 or solid knowledge of sewing construction techniques.

4-week students have access to Open Studio time for free during the month of class and up to a week after the class, to put their new knowledge to practice.
Are materials provided and included in cost of the class?
Yes.
All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision.
