Help setup pop up food pantry in Rogers Park, northside
Come help setup a new pop up food pantry to help serve the Rogers Park community. In response to the growing need for food in the Rogers Park Community (due to other food pantries closing), Care for Real is expanding service to that community with a weekly pop-up pantry every Tuesday, beginning May 19 at the United Church of Rogers Park.
Volunteers are needed to help unload food packages from trucks, and setup distribution which takes place from noon to 2 PM. Average weight of bulk food boxes are 20 to 30 pounds for most boxes. If items are heavier, volunteers work in teams to distribute weight safely. Volunteers will pack grocery bags from the bulk items and distributed to families from noon to 2 pm, while maintaining social distancing. Please help with clean up and break down, recycling after the event.
