Join the Serenity Circle LIVE IN LA on Saturday, February 29th, 2020 on Leap Day from 1PM-4PM.

The World Health Organization estimates that approximately 1 million people die each year from suicide.

Suicide is a desperate attempt to escape suffering that has become unbearable. Blinded by feelings of self-loathing, hopelessness, and isolation, a suicidal person can’t see any way of finding relief except through death. But despite their desire for the pain to stop, most suicidal people are deeply conflicted about ending their own lives.

Most suicidal individuals give warning signs or signals of their intentions. The best way to prevent suicide is to recognize these warning signs and know how to respond if you spot them. If you believe that a friend or family member is suicidal, you can play a role in suicide prevention by pointing out the alternatives, showing that you care, and getting a doctor or psychologist involved.

Talking to a friend or family member about their suicidal thoughts and feelings can be extremely difficult for anyone. But if you’re unsure whether someone is suicidal, the best way to find out is to ask. You can’t make a person suicidal by showing that you care. In fact, giving a suicidal person the opportunity to express his or her feelings can provide relief from loneliness and pent-up negative feelings, and may prevent a suicide attempt.

You are invited to join in on a Serenity Circle, for real talk on suicide prevention, live in person at El Camp in El Segundo, Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, February 29th from 1PM to 4PM.

There is no exact right way to approach this topic, but there are better ways to approach the topic of suicide.

In this live Serenity Circle event, meet other people who are open to sharing and discussing mental health and suicide and wanting to learn about what you and others can do to offer support and prevent suicide, practice engaging in conversation about suicide, and share about your own concerns, questions, experiences and recommendations.

We don't have to suffer alone, and we don't have to let our loved ones suffer alone.

Let's have real talk about suicide prevention so we don't have to lose any loved ones to suicide.

Thank you for your interest and participation in this Serenity Circle event.

With gratitude,

Jenney

P.S. All proceeds will go towards covering the cost of the event and anything left over will be donated to the Suicide Prevention Hotline.
