1st part: Personal and Executive Security
• Introduction and course goals
• Detailing personal and principals' security needs
• Scouting and securing locations 
• Route planning and movement safety
• Protecting oneself and principals during crisis and disaster situations
• Coordination between security team, authorities and law enforcement
• Maintaining sufficient security procedures at residency and work areas, and during travel
• 1st group exercise

2nd part: Managing Facility Security
• Assessing risks and security needs
• Creating organizational, building and urban security plans
• Selecting physical components and equipment
• Putting together an operational structure and a security team
• Setting communication practices between security management, staff, first-responders and authorities

• Sustaining regular operational security practices
• Maintaining security systems and access control for buildings and in urban areas
• Cross-facilities management and business continuity

Instructors:
Col. (Res.) Dany Tirza PhD., is an expert in strategic planning, security, HLS, defining and protecting borders, civil and security GIS applications. From 1994 to 2007 he headed the strategic and spatial planning unit of central command at the Israel Defense Forces. In Israel he has been an Advisor to Prime Ministers, Presidents, Defense Ministers, the National Security Council, the Counter-Terrorism Bureau, the Planning Branch and senior commanders at the I.D.F. Col. Tirza's international security project experience includes security securing muncipalities, industrial parks, hospitals and urban buildings. Additionally, since 2012 he has consulted the Ministry of Regional Development of Israel as an integrator of the Jordan Gateway Industrial Park. From 2008 to 2009 he was a member of the Negotiations Administration at the Prime Minister's Office during the Annapolis peace negotiations as the territorial expert. Col. Tirza holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of York, an M.A. in Business Administration from the University of Riga, Latvia, and B.A in International Relations from Tel Aviv University.

Alex Hales is a security professional with over 17 years of leadership experience. He has provided direction and managed large-scale security programs for some of Chicago’s wealthiest high-profile tenants. In 2017 he was awarded the Security Professional of the Year Award by the Building Owners and Managers Association of Chicago.  His coordination with the city’s emergency response agencies has led to the development of comprehensive life safety protocol, establishing best practices still in use today.  He has been responsible for security in Chicago for such properties as the Hyatt Center, One South Dearborn, the Citadel Center, and presently as Director of Security for the Grant Thornton Center, an over 1-million square foot Class A high-rise in the central business district, and is responsible for the overall daily security operations.  Mr. Hales has long-term experience with building access controls, CCTV systems, and keeping the systems current and functional, as well as establishing liaison with adjacent properties, building occupants, ISP, CPD, and CFD to ensure seamless emergency response.

Manny Mendoza worked for the Chicago Police Department for 20 years, with 8 years as an instructor. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corp after 22 years’ of service, with duties including Team Commander for an Intelligence Unit. As a senior instructor at the Chicago Police Department Training Academy, and principle instructor in the Terrorism Awareness and Response Academy, he has taught more than 14,000 Police Officers in the Chicago Police Department, and many other Law Enforcement units and private security firms. He has an educational background in organizational design and emergency preparedness, dealing with conflict resolution, rapidly changing and evolving threats, and leadership and collaboration challenges. Mr. Mendoza has been awarded Gold-Level Trainer four times by the United States Department of Homeland’s Security Center for Domestic Preparedness and Federal Emergency Management.  His present responsibilities include work as a public security solutions expert and instructor.
