New School Jazz presents: International Association of Schools of Jazz Night

New School Jazz and Zinc Bar Present: International Association of Schools of Jazz Night: An evening of music from members of the IASJ conference.

Open to the public, no cover charge.

The IASJ connects students, educators, and directors of jazz studies on a worldwide level. For 30 years, schools of jazz offering top-level professional jazz education, are connected through the IASJ. Every year an IASJ Jazz Meeting takes place in a different country in the world. During one week around 100 students, educators and staff people learn, teach, perform and network.

Relations between students that started during IASJ Jazz Meeting, lead to bands that shape the future of jazz.

Educators that participated in IASJ Jazz Meetings, build up professional networks that improve jazz education. They form international bands that tour all over the world as well.

Heads of jazz departments that connect during IASJ Jazz Meetings, set up international projects, exchange leadership experiences and promote international jazz research.
