SC Conservation Coalition Lobby Day & Oyster Roast 2019

Join the SC Conservation Coalition, a statewide alliance of over 35 different conservation organizations, on March 19th, for our 16th annual Lobby Day and Oyster Roast.


Do you want to help conservation groups in SC affect change at the SC State House? Do you want to learn how to lobby your state legislators?
NOTE that schedule is subject to change based on the legislative calendar.
We'll gather at 10am in Columbia for lobby training and breifing on the key issues for the day, hearing from policy experts and select lawmakers on lobbying best-practices and tips. Then we'll head over to the State House at noon for an afternoon of lobbying. 
Following the day of making change at the State House, we'll gather with conservation advocates and legislators for an Oyster Roast at 701 Whaley Street from 5:30 - 8pm. We’ll also have chili and vegetarian options available.
So come join us to make an impact at the State House or even just network and celebrate conservation with fellow conservationists and legislators

16th Annual Conservation Lobby Day & Oyster Roast Schedule: March 19, 2019

10:00 am -- Advocacy training at Capital City Club (1201 Main St, 25th floor, please park in Lady St Garage in public spaces, enter building on 2nd floor for the Capital Center)

12:00 pm -- group photo on North state house steps (Gervais St. side) 

12:15 pm -- Lobby: meet at visitor entrance on east (Sumter St./left) side of the SC State House (training participants will walk from the Club to the State House)

12:00 pm -- Representatives convene in House Chamber (lobbying begins)

2:00 pm -- Senators convene in Senate Chamber (lobbying begins) 

*Please note that you are free to leave and eat lunch at whatever time is most convenient for you. Please see the included list of nearby restaurants in your lobby packet.

5:30 - 8:00 pm -- legislative reception & oyster roast at 701 Whaley St in the Market Building
