* This was a project the Chicago Department of Health (CDPH) led in collaboration with many community partners. The project launched in 1991 and included publications and a photography tour to help put a face to the HIV epidemic in the Midwest and speak out against discrimination, fear, and stigma.
**The “Black Dolls of Hope” are created by HIV positive women in workshops across the country, directed by AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s Cynthia Davis, MPH, with one held this October in Chicago at South Side Help Center, an affiliate of AHF.
