The 2021 Keybank Rochester Fringe Festival presents Mary Goggin’s multiple award-winning show, “Runaway Princess, a Hopeful Tale of Heroin, Hooking and Happiness.” The show runs for SIX performances. See dates below. In “Runaway Princess…” Goggin, a writer/actor and former professional call girl, shares a story of Irish Catholicism, sex, and addiction. The tale is laced with humor and pathos and a multitude of characters she encountered along the way to ultimately finding joy. “Runaway Princess…” which swept up three 2018 United Solo awards (Best Storyteller, Solo Critics Choice, Best Seller), will have 6 performances during the 10th Annual event, a 12-day, all-out, no-holds-barred, multi-arts festival. The Fringe features international, national, and local artists and showcases theatre, comedy, dance, music, visual arts, children’s entertainment, physical theatre, musical theatre, opera, poetry, literature, and experiences that have yet to even be imagined. In 2019, over 100,000 people attended the Fringe.
“Miss Goggin injects effortless humor into a masterful story of drugs, homelessness and prostitution… from Ireland to the Bronx she vividly describes the debaucheries of the 70s…the story of someone who has come into herself.” – All About Solo Critics Choice
“Blew me away…rowdy, irreverent, salacious, gracious, insightful, riveting.” – Malachy McCourt
